Abbey Lea Rooms

Rooms with a view

Bedrooms

Our bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated to provide residents with a tranquil, private space of their own, with most rooms overlooking the garden and grounds.

Several of our bedrooms have a private en-suite WC and we have two companion rooms for residents wishing to share with a friend or loved one.

All of our rooms have comfortable beds, armchairs, and plenty of space to store clothes and other personal belongings. We encourage residents to make their room their own, displaying pictures, ornaments, and other treasured items.

Shared spaces

Our grade II listed building means our shared spaces enjoy high ceilings and period features, creating a sense of space and light in a homely environment. Our ‘Memory Lane’ corridor is a wonderful way to spark conversation of times gone by with residents as they travel to and from the sunroom in the extended section of Abbey Lea, which was added to the main part of the home in the early 2000s. The sunroom also leads directly out into the garden, which is enjoyed regularly in spring and summer months.

Weekly movement sessions are held in the living room and craft activities are enjoyed in the small dining room while listening to music. We seek regular input from residents about which events or special days they would like to mark, and we display their creative work around the home whenever possible.

Our residents are encouraged and supported to make use of all our spaces and our support staff are always on hand to offer help and a kind word.
