Welcome to Ochre Care
Located in North Yorkshire, we provide residential care accommodation and services from our two charming care homes in and just outside of the market town of Selby.
At our care homes, Abbey Lea and Westwood, we care for up to 39 residents in total, providing permanent and short-term/respite residencies, and flexible day care sessions.
Residential Care
We have a lovely community of individuals living at our homes. Each resident enjoys the benefits of a cosy, private bedroom, and welcoming shared spaces.
Dementia Care
Our homes specialise in caring for residents who are living with dementia and our teams are continually undertaking dementia-focused training.
Short Stay
If you care for a loved one but have a holiday approaching, need a break to take time for yourself, or require support following an operation, we offer short-stay residences.
Day Care
We offer a day care service at each of our homes, providing a safe and supportive environment for senior citizens during the day.

At Ochre Care we welcome adults aged 65 years and over and we have a range of options to meet their needs. We offer:
- Permanent / long-term residential and dementia care residencies ~
- Short-stay / respite placements, anything from a few days to several weeks as required ~
- Day care sessions, bespoke to suit your needs ~
- Palliative and end of life care ~
We always like to meet potential new residents and, where possible, their family or close friends prior to offering a place within our homes. This helps us gain a really good understanding of their needs and wishes.
During this visit we will conduct a detailed assessment to ensure we can meet the needs of the individual and confidently determine if we are a good fit for them.
We understand that looking for an appropriate care setting for you or a loved one can be a complex journey, and we seek to offer peace of mind at all stages through clear and timely communication.

We run two residential care homes near York in the Selby area of North Yorkshire – Westwood Care Home in Selby and Abbey Lea Care Home in Barlby. Both offer intimate, homely atmospheres in warm, nurturing environments.
We provide residential care, day care, short-term/respite care, and specialise in supporting residents who are living with dementia.
Abbey Lea and Westwood are both lovely period buildings with beautiful garden spaces and each home has its own unique charm and character.
